I understand that just because the game works this way in my Linux VM, this doesn't mean that you're not having the issue. If you care to look at it (totally optional, of course) to see how the game behaves on my Linux VM, here it is. I'll ask the programmers to to look at the code in this section, although it might be hard to replicate since it does not happen to me on my Linux Ubuntu 16.04 LTS VM or under Windows. And you're using Linux and he uses Winjdows. I believe that gamer grimoire wasn't able to get past this section at all. At least you were able to proceed in the game by using the keyboard. Have had no other problem so far, but barely into the game, with closing closeups with the mouse and CLOSE X. The leaf never turns to a hand like you mentioned it should at the 'CLOSE X', but hitting the 'x' on the keyboard did exit the close up of the dead animal soup. My system isn't as 'Super' as his, but running at highest resolution. Using Linux version, keyboard with mouse setup. I'm doing my best to help you here, grimoire. If your gamepad doesn't work, we can try to specifically troubleshoot that, but I don't have any information on make/model, or whether you're trying to play the game in "Big Picture" mode or not.
The game store does indicate "partial controller support". If you're unable or unwilling to disconnect devices, then I can't really help effectively. Troubleshooting often is easier if we can make the variables as few as possible compared to a "vanilla" system. My guess is that if you still have trouble playing the game past the soup in the kitchen, then we're going to need to disconnect some of those HID USB devices and see if the situation improves. Those may be what's causing conflicts that stop the game. And it sounds like you have a lot of devices attached to your computer's USB ports. Supercomputer! Clearly, your computer has the specs needed to run the game easily.

If you don't remember where Doll #1 is picked up by Misfortune, here's the location:ĭoll # 1 is picked up by Misfortune shortly after she leaves "the house of George" and before she enters the cave where the Hamsters are located. After you do this, please ensure you are online in the Steam Client software, and play the part of the Little Misfortune game again where you pick up Doll #1. Instructions for "Verifying the integrity of the game's files" may be found here. If you were playing online, then the only other suggestion I have for you is to "verify integrity of the game files", then try to replay the part of Little Misfortune where the first doll is again picked up automatically. If this is the case, you'll need to open the Steam Client software, and log into Steam, then start up the Little Misfortune game again and either using a save game file, return to the place where Doll #1 can be picked up, or play the game from the beginning until you return to that point where you can pick up Doll #1 automatically again.

So, I must fall back to the troubleshooting tips I'm aware of for troubleshooting general unlocking of achievements in Steam for gamers because it appears to be something that is unique to your Steam Client Software configuration and/or something wrong with the Little Misfortune game files (that can be checked for and fixed by following the instructions below).ĭid you play the Little Misfortune game and pick up the first Doll while your Steam Client software was online? If you were offline, or if the Steam Client software was closed when you played Little Misfortune and picked up Doll #1, that would explain why the achievement did not unlock for you. I am not able to replicate your inability to unlock this achievement.
So I can't see that this is an issue affecting all Steam users playing Little Misfortune.

I did just test unlocking this achievement under Windows just before posting this reply, and the "Hay Doll #1" achievement did unlock for me. This would therefore normally trigger unlocking this achievement automatically as well. It's not possible to not pick up the doll when playing the game (Misfortune automatically picks it up during your gameplay since it's the first doll she sees). I'm sorry that you're having trouble unlocking the "Hay Doll #1" achievement.ĭo you have Doll #1 shown in the "Extras/Dolls" menu of the game? This means that at some point in the past, you did actually add this doll to your inventory.
